Richard Moat

Richard Moat

Managing Director


Richard became Managing Director of T-Mobile UK in June 2009. During the previous 17 years, he held leading positions within France Telecom's Orange Group, most recently as CEO of Orange Romania. Between 2000 and 2004, he was CEO of Orange Thailand and CEO Orange Denmark. Prior to this, after joining Orange in 1992 as a senior manager in the finance function, he progressed to become Corporate Finance Director, and subsequently International Group Director of Finance. Before joining Orange, he spent 12 years with the USX/Marathon Group in various financial positions. In his early career, he was an analyst for Sedgwick plc and Lloyd's of London. Richard, 54, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants, holds a diploma in corporate finance and accounting from London Business School, and an MA honours in law from St Catharine's College, Cambridge.

Sales Director


Mark was appointed Sales Director for T-Mobile UK in June 2009. He first joined T-Mobile in 2000 as a Marketing Manager of Retail. Over the following nine years, he successfully rose through the ranks of Sales and Marketing holding positions such as Head of Post Pay (2005), Director of Consumer Sales (2007) and Director of Sales Operations (Dec 2008).

Before joining T-Mobile, Mark held Senior Sales & Marketing positions at Thomson Multimedia and Thorn EMI Group.



Emin Gurdenli

Technical Director


Emin joined T-Mobile in 1990 as a member of the start-up team and helped build and launch the company's network in the UK in 1993. His wealth of experience spans R&D, service operations, engineering and network planning. Emin is responsible for all network operations in the UK and has international responsibilities for T-Mobile in Europe in the areas of radio access networks and the strategy with regards next-generation 4G technology.

He has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Sheffield and is married with two sons.



Ian Pitcher

HR Director


Ian joined T-Mobile in 2001 as an interim manager and became a permanent employee one year later in July 2002 when he headed up the Reward and Employee Relations team. He became the Head of Employee Experience in January 2008 and HR Director from January 2010.

Before joining T-Mobile Ian worked for NatWest Bank concentrating in his early career on traditional banking activities in the West Country and after spells in strategic planning, finance and internal consultancy moved into a number of senior HR positions within the Group in the City of London.

He is married with a son and daughter and his interests include travelling, most sports (especially golf now), music and fine wine.



Russell Taylor

Customer Service Director


Russell has led Customer Service since 2008 and is responsible for all UK and offshore frontline operations. Customer service is delivered by multi-disciplined teams at contact centres at Greenock, Scotland, Doxford in the north-east and Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. Offshore operations are based in the Philippines and India. Between 2005 and 2008, Russell was Director of Retail, during which time he led the transformation of retail operations and doubled the store footprint. Since joining T-Mobile in 2001, his roles have included leading the business-to-business organisation, regional management and business channel development. Russell spent six years in the Royal Navy as a submariner.



Xiao Quan

Director Enterprise Planning & Delivery


Xiao joined T-Mobile UK in October 2009 with responsibility for the Enterprise Planning and Delivery function.

Prior to joining T-Mobile, Xiao acted as the overall programme manager for the preparation of launching the fixed line service, Nawras, in the Sultanate of Oman.

Between 2006 and 2008, Xiao worked as Head of the Programme Management Office for Orange Romania, where she lead the development of project management processes, programme management of key projects and strategic planning. In her earlier career, she held positions at Siemens China Ltd, Wireless Facilities Inc Consulting, Questus Ltd and KPMG, specialising in programme management for managing mobile network launches and project management optimisation.
